Illumination and lettering with real 24k gold leaf, on prepared paper — the methods of the scriptorium, done properly.

Writing an icon in the traditional method — drawing, gilding, and painting in layers, from the board up.

Beginning Iconography

A first step into the icon tradition — a craft learned over years, begun in an afternoon. Draw, gild, and paint under step-by-step guidance. All materials included. The studio stays open an extra hour for anyone who would like to keep working.
